Hi, I’m Annelise Bazin, a Registered Provisional Psychologist in Edmonton, Alberta. I am dedicated to supporting individuals and couples facing reproductive challenges and those navigating the perinatal period. I am passionate about creating a compassionate space for exploration and healing.
I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Alberta. My primary focus is on maternal and reproductive mental health. The journey to parenthood can often feel isolating, and I strive to provide a welcoming environment for discussions around conception, pregnancy, and parenting.
With seven years of experience teaching yoga to individuals of all ages, I aim to bring a holistic perspective to my practice. My therapeutic approach is person-centred, drawing from cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and narrative therapy. When working with couples, I draw from the Gottman method and emotion-focused therapy.
I work with individuals and couples experiencing life transitions from deciding whether to have children, experiencing infertility, challenges during the perinatal period, and beyond. I have a particular interest in perinatal obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and other mood disorders, such as anxiety and depression. It is a privilege to support parents who have experienced loss, including miscarriage and infant loss.
I have always had an interest in psychology and mental health but my decision to focus on perinatal mental health came from my own journey into parenthood. I believe therapy is a collaborative process and I am grateful for the space that I get to hold for clients. My intention is to create a warm and inviting space to settle.
When I’m not in the office, you can find me spending time with my family, baking, or reading a variety of books. My love of books is something that often makes an appearance in session if clients are looking for more information on a topic.
If you’re ready to explore your journey toward healing and growth, I invite you to reach out by phone or online booking. I would love to support you on your way. Contact me today to schedule a consultation.
